Great Barrier Reef

The children decided to model the Great Barrier Reef with red and yellow coral. They have even got some divers exploring the reef, swimming in the blue green ocean.

Darcie and Douglas at the Dower House.

Douglas loved his camping experience especially sleeping on an air bed but Darcie doesn't look too impressed with the awful weather we had this weekend.

Esmee's sunflower.

The first of our sunflower seeds to flower, well done Esmee you must have green fingers!

Underwater classroom.

Our class has become an under sea reef with fish swimming above our heads and colourful coral growing beneath our feet.

Rainbow Fish Swims.

We read a book about LeafMan and used it to help us write some Rainbow Fish sentences. Each sentence needed to include an ADVERB, a PREPOSITION, and a setting with ADJECTIVES. Here are some of our sentences.

Who knows where the Rainbow Fish Goes?
A Rainbow Fish goes where the current flows.

Is he blasting through the dark cave?

Is he leaping across the golden crusty anemones?

Is he swirling around the shiny yellow seaweed?

Is he bobbing beneath the gloomy dark sea?

Is he gliding past the swaying swirling seaweed?

Is he racing between the crumbly rocks?

Is he spiralling around the yellow golden coral fingers?

Is he diving into he creepy cold cave?

Is he swooping beyond the rainbow coloured anemones?

Beanbags and designs.

Here are the finished beanbags we have made. They are fabulous.

Finishing touches.

The beanbags have been decorated and now we have filled them, some chose wadding and others chose bubble wrap! The final job was to stitch the last bit up. It took all of our concentration especially the fiddly job of threading the needle but we all persevered.

A few of us had to do some emergency repairs as we fixed the details on with unsticky glue! We won't be buying that sort of glue again.
