Tigers and other big cats.

The main reason for our visit was to see the tigers and we were delighted to see the whole family out and about.
This one is dad.

One of the cubs.

Mum and dad.

The second cub.

Hunting practice for this little one.

Can you spot the leopard?

Here it is.

The cheetah is much slimmer and athletic looking.

An amazing zoo day.

We were so lucky with the weather during our visit to Banham Zoo, our wishes for a fine day paid off.

Douglas, what are you doing in the tiger enclosure!

This fellow looks a bit safer.

"You go down first."
"No, you go first!"
We liked watching the comical Prairie dogs.

Where's the meerkat gone? It was just here a moment ago.

There they are, cuddling together under the hot lamp!

Douglas and Darcie

Douglas had a sleepover with Darcie this weekend.

He helped look after her hamster.

Then he had a fun time with her dog.

A Famous encounter for Douglas Bear

Douglas had a meeting with an Olympic gold winning sportsman in Australia! Here he is with Andy Murray, wow lucky Douglas. I wonder whether he got any top tennis tips.

Winter food.

At this time of year the wildlife around us may need some help, so we made fat seed feeders for our garden birds.

Winter words

These wintery words were the starting point for these pictures.

Evidence of winter.

We went outside to look for signs of winter.

Even though it is cold the sky is still beautiful and blue.

The trees are all bare and their leaves have blown around the playground.

The grasses and flowers have died.

The clothes we wear are particularly important in winter too.
